Load up the beach chairs and towels, cruise around Ocean Lakes, head to Sandy Harbor, grab a bite to eat, visit the Game Center, or enjoy one of those classic evening golf cart rides around the campground.

Steps From the Beach

This is the kind of location families love.

Being just steps from the beach means you can head down for a morning walk, spend a few hours swimming and relaxing, come home for lunch, then head right back out again.

Forgot the sunscreen?

No big ordeal.

Want to go back for sunset?

Easy.

Your close-to-the-beach location is one of this home's biggest vacation perks.

Bright & Comfortable Coastal Living

Inside, you'll find bright, inviting spaces with a relaxed coastal feel designed for family vacations.

Gather together for movies, games, conversation, or a little downtime after a long afternoon in the Myrtle Beach sunshine.

High-speed Wi-Fi and cable provide the conveniences you want when everyone needs a break before the next adventure.

Fully Stocked Kitchen

Vacationing with a larger group is much easier when you have a kitchen ready for family meals.

Prepare breakfast before heading to the beach, make lunch between activities, or gather everyone together for dinner at home.

The fully stocked kitchen includes the essentials for preparing meals during your stay, while the indoor dining area gives everyone a place to sit down together.

And when nobody feels like cooking, Myrtle Beach, Surfside Beach, and Murrells Inlet offer plenty of seafood, pizza, burgers, ice cream, and local restaurants.

Outdoor Living, TV & Grill

Beach vacations are better when you can spend plenty of time outside.

The home's outdoor living area includes comfortable dining and lounging space, an outdoor TV, gas grill, and lake views.

Fire up the grill for an easy family cookout, watch the game outside, or just relax together after another full day at Ocean Lakes.

Experience Ocean Lakes Family Campground

One of the best parts of staying here is that the fun doesn't stop when you leave the beach.

Ocean Lakes features nearly one mile of Atlantic Ocean beachfront with 20 beach accesses, along with oceanfront playgrounds, basketball, volleyball, fishing, shuffleboard, bicycle rentals, recreation programs, shopping, dining, and seasonal family activities.

The seasonal Sandy Harbor Water Park features the Adventure River, Splash Zone children's play area, The Tube slide, Drop Zone four-lane mat racer, and Tad Pool for younger children. Ocean Lakes also offers the Sandy Harbor Game Center and Recreation Center.

Spend the morning at the beach, enjoy Ocean Lakes in the afternoon, grab an ice cream, then finish your day cruising the campground in one of your two golf carts.

That's a pretty good vacation day.

Important Ocean Lakes 2026–2027 Update

Ocean Lakes is currently making major improvements to Sandy Harbor.

The original indoor pool, original outdoor pool, and Sandy Harbor Mini Golf closed September 8, 2026 for construction. The new facilities are targeted to open around Memorial Day weekend 2027.

The expansion is planned to include a new resort-style outdoor pool with private cabanas, a much larger indoor pool, children's splash pool and aquatic play area, two indoor body slides, expanded Game Center space, and new food service. During construction, the Adventure River is being used as a pool alternative when weather and construction conditions allow.

The separate Sandy Harbor Water Park continues to operate seasonally, so guests should check Ocean Lakes' current schedules when planning their stay.

Explore Myrtle Beach & the Grand Strand

There's plenty to do inside Ocean Lakes, but you're also in a convenient location for exploring Myrtle Beach.

The Market Common offers shopping, restaurants, entertainment, landscaped streets, fountains, and family-friendly gathering spaces.

Myrtle Beach Boardwalk & SkyWheel make for a classic Myrtle Beach evening. The oceanfront Boardwalk stretches approximately 1.2 miles and offers restaurants, shops, ocean views, entertainment, and the iconic SkyWheel.

Broadway at the Beach is another favorite for shopping, dining, family attractions, entertainment, and activities.

Head south toward Murrells Inlet for waterfront dining and fresh seafood, or spend the day at Brookgreen Gardens exploring beautiful gardens, art, Lowcountry history, and native wildlife.

You'll also be convenient to Myrtle Beach State Park, Ripley's Aquarium, miniature golf, championship golf courses, outlet shopping, fishing charters, watersports, live shows, and miles of beautiful South Carolina coastline.
